Product Details

STMicroelectronics' VN5160STR-E is a high-performance smart power MOSFET driver for driving high-power N-channel external MOSFETs. It has built-in high-current terminals to enable fast switching of high-voltage and high-current loads. The VN5160STR-E is a smart embedded solution with built-in diagnostics and protection functions to provide a safe and reliable supply for the load. It features Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) input control with adjustable frequency of up to 2.5kHz, and a fast on-time propagation delay of less than 2µs. The VN5160STR-E also supports constant on-time (COT) control, allowing system designers to easily apply this control method with minimal external components. It also has a low on-resistance of 6.1mΩ, which provides optimal efficiency. In addition, the VN5160STR-E provides overcurrent protection, undervoltage lockout, overload protection, and thermal shutdown to protect the driver, load, and power supply. The VN5160STR-E comes in a SO8 package for easy integration into the system's PCB. Applications include LED drivers, DC/DC, and power inverters.
